CULTURAL HERITAGE
Culture heritage becomes an experience
Solutions to attract visitors, entertain them and inform them through digital engagement.
Within the context of the vast project for the redevelopment of the museum dedicated to the town’s native illustrious artist, the Municipality of Taverna expressed an interest in creating an area where visitors could interact and dialogue with the cultural heritage available, with the aim of ensuring a stimulating and ongoing exchange between the museum and the visitor.
Touchwindow was involved from the very beginning of the museum itinerary’s design process.
Through the preliminary determination of the concept for the exhibit, we:
The result is a true Digital Art Experience project aimed at surprising visitors, capturing their attention and arousing their emotions. The implementation of interactive real-time image manipulation technologies enriched the experience, offering a unique element of engagement during the visit.
The essence of this museum wing is based on the desire to pay tribute to the 17th century artist, Mattia Preti, through an engaging and innovative museum experience. The main objective is to transform the enjoyment of cultural content into an exciting, interactive, and immersive journey.
The museum is conceived as a dynamic space where history, art, and technology blend harmoniously, creating an itinerary that embodies the artist’s genius and innovation.
The narrative journey winds its way through interactive and immersive exhibits marking the most salient stages of the artist’s life and works, offering visitors a unique opportunity: to explore, understand, and appreciate Mattia Preti’s contribution to art through a technological display that unites the past and present in a compelling combination.
Through a design based on the total integration between the material and immaterial, between physical and technological installations, we have developed a space that challenges the boundaries of tradition, immersing visitors in a timeless journey.
In designing the museum, we began with an in-depth analysis of the Customer Journey, combining it with interactive digital storytelling, resulting in a fascinating combination videos, images, sounds, and immersive projections.
The designed exhibits consist of large enveloping projections, which interact with carefully placed physical elements, while interactive solutions immerse visitors in the fascinating world of Mattia Preti.
An XLine Table 65" equipped with Touchviewer allows visitors to interact with the digital content in multi-user mode, and to access additional information and insights.
Through the use of Projection Mapping, we have created walls that become animated as visitors pass by, paintings that come to life with a simple touch, and an immersive room where visitors can experience the artworks with all of their senses. This is how the journey through the story of Mattia Preti ends, leaving an indelible imprint in the soul of those who walk through.
The content creation process followed a precise technical approach, guided by an in-depth analysis of the artist’s stylistic characteristics. Our digital artists developed ad-hoc interactive content based on the distinctive aesthetic characteristics of Mattia Preti’s artworks, including elements such as the use of Caravaggio’s lighting and the skilful manipulation of colours.
Through the application of generative art techniques, we dynamically recreated the movement of the artist’s characteristic brushstrokes. We also created projections on flat surfaces, which interact with the physical elements of the installation, creating a unique experience.
This combination of advanced technology and artistic sensitivity offers visitors an authentic immersion into the peculiarities of the 17th century, through the eyes and the unmistakable style of Mattia Preti.
The museum staff manage the entire multimedia exhibit in complete autonomy on a day-to-day basis through the Triatic software platform. It’s a solution that allows the museum staff to initiate visits in two ways:
The Triatic platform provides constant feedback on each device’s proper functionality, and includes an admin page that offers complete control over all the devices, allowing in-depth diagnostics to be carried out if any problems should arise, and direct intervention on the devices themselves.
It’s a technology that guarantees optimal performance over time.
